Amid escalating Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian capital, Tehran, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his family, including his son Mojtaba, have been moved to an underground shelter in the Lavizan area northeast of Tehran, according to informed sources within Iran as reported by "Iran International" channel. This move comes hours after the intensified Israeli attacks on Tehran early last Friday, as part of the ongoing escalation between the two sides. In related developments, a member of Iran's Expediency Discernment Council, Mohsen Rezaee, confirmed the continued confrontation with Israel, stating that Iran has taken countermeasures to thwart the Israeli plan, announcing that details will be revealed later, and accusing Israel of planning extensive assassination operations within the country. On the other hand, two American officials revealed to Reuters that President Donald Trump recently rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Khamenei, considering targeting the Iranian political leadership unjustified unless Iran kills American citizens. Meanwhile, Israeli National Security Council chief Meir Ben-Shabbat denied the existence of a plan to assassinate Khamenei or senior regime leaders, despite Iran's announcement of the deaths of several of its military leaders, including Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri, Revolutionary Guard commander Qasem Soleimani, and Air Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, in addition to seven other leaders in the Air Force. In a field development, the Israeli Defense Minister threatened that Tehran residents will soon pay the price, indicating a possibility of further military escalation. These events unfold within the context of escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, amidst international warnings about the repercussions of this escalation on regional and international security.
