In his first reaction after the American strikes targeting 3 nuclear sites in Iran - Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei wrote a post on the "X" platform speaking about Israel, not America, stating that "Israel's punishment is still ongoing".
The statements continue, with the latest from US President Donald Trump saying that "the greatest damage to Iran's nuclear facilities was well below the surface".
Meanwhile, several statements from Iran confirm their intention to retaliate against the American strikes, without providing any clarification on the nature, timing, or scope of the response.
Among these statements, Ali Shamkhani, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader who was seriously injured on the first day of the Israeli strikes on Iran on June 13, said that even with the complete destruction of the nuclear sites, "the game is not over yet".
Shamkhani confirmed that "the enriched materials are still intact", indicating that "surprises are ongoing", and that "the initiative in political and operational matters, within the framework of the legitimate right of defense, is in the hands of the party that manages the game wisely and avoids random shooting", as he put it.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "Israel is very close to achieving its goals in Iran, which include getting rid of ballistic missile threats and the nuclear program".
He explained that "the results of the strikes on the Iranian nuclear program are being examined", and stressed that "Israel will not be dragged into a war of attrition", but at the same time emphasized that "the military campaign against Iran will not end prematurely".
