A Jordanian trade delegation will visit Syria at the end of the month to enhance economic cooperation.

An economic delegation representing the commercial and service sectors from Jordan will begin an official visit to Syria on the 26th of this month to discuss ways to develop economic relations between the two countries and enhance common interests.
The President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, explained that this visit is the first of its kind for the Jordanian private sector under the umbrella of the Chamber of Commerce. He noted that it is being coordinated with the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, and the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Union. His statement was reported by the Jordanian TV channel "Al-Mamlaka."
Al-Haj Tawfiq emphasized that the delegation, which will spend two days in Syria, is the largest at the private sector level, including heads of chambers of commerce and representatives of various commercial and service sectors in Jordan. He also pointed out that this visit is the first of its kind after the fall of the Assad regime.
During their visit, the delegation will meet with several Syrian officials, including ministers of economy, trade, and services, as well as the president and members of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Union, in addition to representatives of the Syrian private sector.
The discussions are expected to include the formation of a joint Jordanian-Syrian business council and planning for a business forum in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the near future, aiming to launch a new phase of economic cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Haj Tawfiq highlighted that the delegation seeks to support the Syrian economy in the reconstruction phase, especially after the lifting of sanctions and Syria's return to its position in the Arab and international arenas.
He affirmed that the Jordanian private sector is a key partner for Syria in this phase and will work to provide support in areas such as strengthening the banking system and digital transformation, benefiting from Jordan's extensive experience in these fields.
He added, "The Jordanian private sector is committed to standing alongside its Syrian counterpart to build a strong and open economy, especially with the Kingdom of Jordan."
He emphasized the importance of enhancing commercial and investment companies between the two sides, revitalizing transit trade, exchanging economic visits, holding joint exhibitions, as well as sharing information about available investment opportunities.
