The Jordanian Armed Forces prevent a drug smuggling operation coming from Syria.

The Jordanian Armed Forces managed on Saturday, April 5th, to foil an attempt to infiltrate across the border, in addition to preventing the smuggling of a quantity of drugs coming from the Syrian side.
A responsible military source at the General Command of the Armed Forces reported to the Jordan News Agency "Petra" that the infiltration attempt was controlled and a quantity of drugs was seized, which was handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action.
This security achievement is part of a series of successful operations carried out by Jordan to combat smuggling across its borders, as it has previously announced the thwarting of similar smuggling operations, including armed confrontations between border guards and smuggling groups attempting to breach the northern borders from Syrian territories.
On the other hand, Jordan and Syria are working to enhance security cooperation through the formation of a joint committee aimed at securing border areas, combating arms and drug smuggling crimes, as well as preventing any potential activity of "ISIS" in the region.
