Italy Excludes Israel from the International "Levant" Exhibition Due to Gaza Violations

The management of the "Levant" trade fair in Italy has decided to exclude Israel from the events of its 88th edition, scheduled to be held from September 15 to 21 in the city of Bari, in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in rejection of Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip.
The decision was made in implementation of the directives of the Italian Exhibition Authority and based on a request from the Mayor of Bari, "Vito Lattanzio", who called for preventing Israel or its representatives from participating in any capacity "until it stops its military operations in the Gaza Strip and its systematic violation of human rights against the Palestinians," according to what the Italian news agency "AKI" reported.
The exhibition management, which hosted 240,000 visitors in its previous edition, confirmed that this measure reflects a "shared moral and political vision" with the Municipality of Bari, emphasizing its rejection of the "ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people".
It is noteworthy that the "Levant" exhibition is one of the most prominent international trade platforms, bringing together industrial, food, artisanal, and tourism sectors from Mediterranean countries. This step represents new pressure on Israel, amid escalating popular and institutional boycott campaigns in Europe against its policies in Gaza.
