Israeli Foreign Minister: Netherlands Chose to Turn Friendship with Israel into Open Hostility towards It
Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi officially rebuked the Dutch ambassador today, Tuesday, in response to her country's criticisms of the treatment of Palestinians and the ban on two members of the Israeli government from traveling to the Netherlands.

Ashkenazi stated in a post on the "X" platform that "the Dutch government chose to turn a long-term friendship with Israel into open hostility towards it, specifically at a difficult time it is going through, most likely driven by political interests."

The Dutch government, currently acting as a caretaker government after the collapse of the coalition government in June, said in a late Monday message that it will summon the Israeli ambassador in the Netherlands to condemn the situation in Gaza as "intolerable and indefensible."

Netherlands also imposed a ban on two ministers from the far-right in the Israeli government, preventing them from entering the country.

This comes after similar steps last month against the two ministers, Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, by Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway.
