Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said on Thursday that he instructed the Foreign Ministry staff to send urgent humanitarian aid to the affected areas in Sweida.
In a post on the "X" platform, Ashkenazi said: "In light of the recent attacks on the Druze in Sweida, Syria, and the serious humanitarian situation in the region, I instructed the Foreign Ministry staff today to send urgent humanitarian aid to the affected areas in Sweida".
He added: "The current aid package, worth 2 million shekels, includes food parcels, medical equipment, first aid supplies, and medicines, aimed at supporting the residents directly affected by the violent attacks".
He confirmed that "this is the second aid package sent by the Foreign Ministry under my leadership to the Druze in Syria, following the aid package sent last March".
