After Israeli Defense Minister "Yisrael Katz" revealed for the first time what he claimed to be correspondences between Iran and the General Commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif, and Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, confirming Iran's support for the October 7th, 2023 plan, Hamas responded. A Hamas leader denied the form and content of the message leaked by Israel, stating: "The form and content of the message are strange and incorrect." He also emphasized that the documents published by the Israeli Defense Minister regarding the relationship with Iran are not valid. This came after Katz clarified during a visit to the intelligence unit in the "Amshout" brigade on Sunday, that Deif and Sinwar requested $500 million from the Quds Force commander to destroy Israel. He added that a document he presented for the first time includes recordings of conversations found in tunnels of senior Hamas leaders in Gaza, indicating a direct relationship between Iran, Sinwar, and Deif as part of Iran's support for Hamas' plan to destroy Israel, according to him. He also said that the head of the Palestinian branch of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Izadi, responded to Deif and Sinwar's request, stating that "Iran, despite its difficult economic situation and the suffering of the Iranian people, will continue to provide funds to Hamas." The Israeli minister concluded by saying, "Iran is the head of the snake, and despite all its denials, it continues to fund and encourage terrorism in all sectors from Gaza through Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and now also the Houthis in Yemen under the guise of the desire to destroy Israel." It is worth mentioning that Iran has denied multiple times having knowledge of the attack carried out by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the death of around 1200 people and the capture of about 250 others. This is the third time Israel has published this document regarding Iranian support for Hamas.
