Israeli Defense Minister Claims to Have Eliminated 80% of Threat Sources in the West Bank

Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, announced that Israeli forces have succeeded in "eliminating 80% of threat sources in the West Bank," according to statements he published on the "X" platform today, Sunday, August 10.
Gallant added: "The Israeli army launched a fierce attack on the camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams in the West Bank, evacuated the residents, eliminated the terrorists, and dismantled the infrastructure of terrorism." He also confirmed that the army will continue its presence in those camps "at least until the end of the year."
The Israeli Defense Minister clarified that "the optimal model for combating terrorism lies in attacking and pursuing it whether in the West Bank, Gaza, or anywhere else."
This statement comes amid escalating clashes between the Israeli army and armed groups in the West Bank camps, which have witnessed intensive military operations and incursions into villages and homes over the past months.
On the other hand, various areas of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are witnessing an increase in attacks by armed Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians, especially after the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
Multiple Arab and Western countries have condemned these attacks, as well as the Israeli military operations in the West Bank, calling for the protection of civilians and an end to the escalation.
