Israeli Claims of Egypt's Move to Enhance Military Cooperation with China Amid Concerns in Tel Aviv

Israeli media claimed to have observed activities of the Egyptian army, focusing on the meeting of Egyptian Defense Minister, General Abdel Meguid Saker, with the paratroopers and commando forces, considering this evidence of Cairo's continued combat readiness.

The news site Nativ Net pointed out that these movements confirm the Egyptian army's preparedness to face any threats, while the newspaper Israel Hayom addressed another aspect of the scene, stating that Cairo is working to expand its military partnerships, particularly with China, in order to diversify its arms sources and reduce dependence on the United States, which has been the main arms supplier for decades.

The newspaper added that recent months have seen repeated meetings between Egyptian and Chinese military officials, during which advanced air defense system deals, joint training, and cooperation in the fields of cyber warfare and surveillance were discussed, along with Chinese offers for joint military production and the transfer of drone technology.

According to Israeli observers, Cairo sees liberation from unilateral dependence on Washington as a necessity, especially with the restrictions it imposes on exporting military technology.

The newspaper also confirmed that the growing Egyptian-Chinese cooperation raises concerns in Tel Aviv, which closely monitors the course of these relations, amid Egypt's efforts to build a broader security partnership network that includes Russia, France, Germany, and India, to face regional challenges in Gaza, Sudan, Libya, and the Red Sea.
