Israel continues to intensify its military operations in the Gaza Strip, with Israeli warplanes, artillery, and naval vessels launching a series of violent airstrikes on various areas in the sector early Monday morning. The attacks extended from the east of Rafah in the south to the west of Beit Lahia in the north, as part of what the Israeli army described as a "broad ground operation" named "Judean Charriot," in a new escalation that included the bombing of displaced persons' tents and residential homes. The Civil Defense in Gaza announced that the attacks claimed the lives of 11 Palestinians early Monday, while medical sources confirmed that the total number of Palestinian casualties from Saturday until Sunday morning reached 160 people, bringing the total number to 171 dead in less than 48 hours. Simultaneously with the ongoing bombardment, Israel initiated an extensive ground operation in the north and south of Gaza, marking a new phase of military escalation despite international warnings of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the sector. On the diplomatic front, international efforts to reach a ceasefire continue, with a new round of indirect talks launched in Doha between representatives of Israel and Hamas, mediated by Egypt and Qatar and supported by the United States. However, sources from both sides reported that the talks have not made significant progress so far. Israeli estimates indicate that there are around 24 detainees inside Gaza believed to be alive, with Tel Aviv aiming to release 10 of them as a first step in any potential agreement. Military operations had resumed on March 18th after a temporary halt under a ceasefire agreement sponsored by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States. However, negotiations stalled regarding the next phase, leading to a resurgence of hostilities at a more intense pace.
