Israel launched a series of airstrikes targeting the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, in addition to the power station in Ras Al-Katheeb in Yemen, under Houthi control, in the middle of Sunday night - Monday.
Israel issued an urgent warning to evacuate these areas and ships docked nearby before the strikes, in response to the repeated attacks carried out by the Houthis against it.
Local residents confirmed intense explosions following the airstrikes, with thick columns of smoke rising from the targeted sites.
The Israeli army announced targeting the cargo ship "Galaxy Leader" seized by the Houthis in November 2023, noting that it was equipped with a radar system to track shipping movements in the Red Sea.
In a related context, the Israeli army detected the launch of two missiles from Yemen towards Israeli territory, triggering alarm sirens in several areas, while announcing the interception of one missile by air defenses.
Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, emphasized in his statements that those who attempt to harm Israel will pay a heavy price, warning the Houthis that "the law of Yemen is the same as the law of Tehran," in reference to similar warnings issued towards Iran.
These developments come amid escalating tensions between Israel and the Houthi group in Yemen, after the Houthis earlier announced targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Israel with a ballistic supersonic missile.
