Israeli Raid Targets Car in Southern Lebanon, Resulting in One Death and Injuries

The town of Kfara in the district of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon witnessed a new Israeli raid on Thursday, July 17, targeting a civilian car, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of two others, in a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement signed since November 2024.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone launched a guided missile at a "Rapid" type car at the army's exit in the Toul - Kfara area, causing it to immediately catch fire. Civil defense and ambulance teams intervened to transport the wounded and injured.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed in an official statement that "the Israeli raid targeted a car on the Toul - Kfara highway, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of two others."
This attack is part of a series of repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement reached through US mediation after months of confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated into open war.
The agreement stipulates Hezbollah's withdrawal from areas south of the Litani River, about 30 kilometers from the Israeli border, and the dismantling of its military infrastructure there, in exchange for strengthening the deployment of the Lebanese army and UN forces (UNIFIL). The agreement also includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas they advanced into during the war, although Israel still occupies 5 strategic heights that Lebanon demands its withdrawal from.
Israel continues to justify its raids in Lebanese territories by claiming to target "elements or sites affiliated with Hezbollah," affirming its determination to "remove any threat" to its security. It also threatens to continue its strikes unless the party's weapons are removed, according to Agence France-Presse.
