An Israeli drone targeted a civilian car on the road linking the town of Kafr Rumman to the city of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon this Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of Adnan Harb, a member of Hezbollah, as announced by the party in an official statement of mourning. The airstrike came hours after a series of raids carried out by the Israeli warplanes yesterday evening, targeting sites in southern and eastern Lebanon, according to the "National News Agency," without mentioning any casualties in those attacks. The Israeli army, through its "X" platform account, declared that it targeted facilities belonging to Hezbollah used for producing and storing strategic weapons in the Bekaa region, emphasizing that the party continues to rebuild its military capabilities. Despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah coming into effect since November 27th, Israeli airstrikes have not ceased, being carried out almost daily against what Tel Aviv describes as "Hezbollah-affiliated targets." Although the ceasefire agreement stipulates the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon by February 18, the Israeli army still maintains a military presence in five Lebanese border hills, further destabilizing the situation on the ground and leading to further escalation. Amid this tense reality, Israeli warplanes and drones continue to carry out targeted attacks, while responses from Hezbollah continue, amidst shy international efforts to maintain the ceasefire and prevent the situation from sliding towards a new open confrontation.
