The Israeli army announced on Monday evening that it intercepted two rockets launched from Gaza towards the town of Sderot and adjacent areas. The army stated that the rockets were successfully intercepted after alerts sounded in the Gaza envelope at 19:02 local time. Prior to that, the Israeli army activated sirens in the Sderot area and its surroundings. The Israeli army radio reported that this was the first time since the ceasefire in Gaza that sirens were heard in the Sderot area, noting that the rockets were launched from the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, Saraya al-Quds, claimed responsibility for launching a rocket attack towards Israeli settlements adjacent to Gaza, including Sderot, Netiv HaAsara, and Zikim. Hamas's military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Friday that they targeted Ashkelon with a rocket barrage, while the Israeli army stated that they intercepted two rockets launched from northern Gaza towards the city of Ashkelon, located south of the Strip. Since the resumption of the genocide in Gaza on March 18, Israel has killed 730 Palestinians and injured 1367 others, mostly women and children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
