According to what "Reuters" reported from 4 informed sources, Israel is seeking to pressure the United States to keep Syria weak without a strong central authority.
It added: "Israel is pushing Washington to allow Russia to maintain its military bases in Syria."
Referring to the tense relations between "Israel" and Turkey, which deteriorated sharply during the war in Gaza.
The informed sources reported that "Israel" informed Washington that the new rulers in Syria supported by Ankara are threatening its borders, causing deep concern about Turkey's role in Syria.
Pointing to Tel Aviv's attempts to convince Washington of the necessity of Russia keeping its bases in Syria to contain Turkey.
"Israel" claimed that the new Syrian government "poses a serious threat to its territories and may launch an attack one day."
Since the fall of the ousted Assad regime in Syria on December 8th of last year, Israel has taken control of the demilitarized zone on the outskirts of Quneitra province and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, and has carried out several airstrikes targeting various areas in Syria, including the countryside of Damascus, Daraa, and Quneitra.
