Israel arrests a teenager on charges of spying for Iran via "Telegram."

The Israeli police and "Shin Bet" (General Security Service) announced the arrest of a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of collaborating with Iranian entities and carrying out espionage missions in exchange for money.
According to investigations, Iranian agents communicated with the boy in recent weeks via the "Telegram" application, requesting him to carry out several tasks, including writing slogans on walls in the Tel Aviv area, as well as photographing facilities belonging to the "Iron Dome" missile defense system. The boy reportedly completed the first task but was unable to complete the second one.
After interrogation, the boy was released under house arrest, with his parents informed of all the details of the case.
In this context, the police and "Shin Bet" warned of continued attempts by intelligence and "terrorist" entities, especially Iranian, to recruit Israeli citizens through social media for carrying out "terrorist operations."
This incident follows a previous report issued by "Shin Bet" in January 2025, revealing an increase in Iranian espionage networks inside Israel during 2024, with the exposure of 13 networks consisting of 37 spies, representing a 400% increase compared to previous years.
The report indicated that most of those involved were Jewish citizens driven by financial motives but showed readiness to carry out dangerous operations, including involvement in assassinations of security and political figures.
