Hamas alternative in Gaza... Israel arms "Bedouin group"

An Israeli security source revealed that Tel Aviv began last month a field experiment by arming a "Bedouin militia" in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, considering this step as a potential real alternative to Hamas if successful.
The source explained in an interview with the Hebrew channel "12" that this plan effectively contributed to "saving the lives of Israeli soldiers" during recent operations, adding that the idea originated from the Israeli security establishment's conviction that toppling Hamas requires a ground alternative, given the Israeli government's refusal to hand over the sector to the Palestinian Authority or deploy international forces. He confirmed that this militia is undergoing a real test and has shown effectiveness in the field, which may accelerate the "end of Hamas rule" in Gaza.
Israeli political analyst Avi Issacharoff criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday for arming "criminal groups" in Gaza instead of finding what he called a "real alternative to Hamas."
Issacharoff wrote an article in the Israeli newspaper "Maariv," in which he explained that Netanyahu "is providing weapons to gangs in the sector instead of finding a real alternative to the Hamas movement."
He considered that the "real solution" lies in a "Palestinian police force supervised by Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United States," in his opinion.
