Iraqi Plan to Evacuate Popular Mobilization Forces' Headquarters from Nineveh Within Two Months

Military sources in Iraq revealed to Eram News that the Nineveh Operations Command has put a plan in place to evacuate the Popular Mobilization Forces' headquarters from some areas of the northern governorate within the next two months, in what is considered the first such step since the end of the war against ISIS.
The sources explained that the decision came by directive from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and aims to gradually reduce the presence of armed factions in Nineveh, paving the way for the implementation of the experience later in other governorates such as Anbar and Salah al-Din.
According to the source, the Iraqi government seeks through these measures to "rearrange the security situation" amid increasing complaints from local residents, alongside ongoing international criticisms regarding the rising influence of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
This move comes amid escalating American pressures calling for the integration of the Popular Mobilization Forces into official security institutions, and ending any independent presence of armed factions, as Washington links its continued support for Iraq in training, intelligence cooperation, and counter-terrorism to Baghdad's commitment to implementing these steps.
