Iraq Embassy in Damascus: There is no truth to the closure of the Al-Qaim border crossing with Syria and the movement of transit continues

The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Damascus confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Al-Qaim border crossing with Syria is operating normally, denying the accuracy of the news circulating on social media about its closure.
The embassy clarified in a statement that the Iraqi Border Crossing Authority also stated that the movement of travelers and commercial transport continues between the two countries, noting that the current decline in the number of arrivals is due to a temporary decrease related to the Arbaeen pilgrimage season.
The statement added that the movement through the crossing will return to its usual pace after the pilgrimage ends, with economic and commercial activity continuing as usual.
