Iraq denies killing and injuring citizens by Kuwaiti border guards' gunfire

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior denied today, Sunday, the validity of the circulating news about Kuwaiti border guards killing an Iraqi and injuring another near the border strip between the two countries.

It had been circulated that Kuwaiti authorities opened fire on a group of Iraqi youths near the border strip, resulting in the killing of one and the injury of another".


The Iraqi Interior Ministry issued an urgent statement in which it "categorically denies these allegations", confirming that "the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders are stable and secure, and do not witness any incidents of this kind".
It called on the media and social media users to "exercise accuracy and not to be swayed by rumors, and to rely on official and accredited sources in conveying news and security information".
