Iraq: Arrest of a Financial Support Official for ISIS

The Iraqi Intelligence Directorate announced today the arrest of a woman who holds the position of financial aid distribution officer for ISIS elements in the Sharqat district of Salah al-Din province.

The directorate clarified in a statement that the operation was carried out by military intelligence units in the 21st Infantry Division, in coordination with the National Security Agency, after precise field monitoring and setting up a tight ambush that resulted in her arrest.

The statement added that the accused has an arrest warrant issued against her under the provisions of Article (1/4) of the Anti-Terrorism Law, and she has been handed over to the relevant authorities to complete the legal procedures against her.
