The district of 'Souk Al-Shuyukh' in Thi Qar Governorate, Iraq, witnessed armed tribal clashes between two parties from the same clan on the evening of Thursday, June 27, resulting in injuries and panic among the residents, amid an urgent intervention by security forces to contain the situation.

The conflict erupted in the 'Military Neighborhood' area after a dispute between the two families over a woman, as reported by the local site 'Shafaq News'. The involved parties used medium weapons, leading to the injury of 4 people with varying degrees of injuries, who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Local sources reported that security forces imposed a security cordon around the incident site and managed to arrest 5 individuals connected to the clashes so far. Meanwhile, Iraqi bloggers on social media circulated information that the clashes also resulted in one person's death, although this information has not been officially confirmed as of Friday morning.

Activists shared a video showing moments of residents fleeing amid intense gunfire from various weapons, creating a state of panic in the area. The detailed reasons for the dispute over the woman have not been disclosed yet, and whether it is related to marriage issues or other conflicts.
