Ali Akbar Velayati, the international affairs advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, demanded today, Saturday, that the United States pay compensation for what he described as "serious damages" inflicted on Iranian nuclear facilities as a result of what he deemed an illegitimate military attack.
Velayati wrote in a post on the "Telegram" platform: "The US government launched a military attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. This illegal attack caused significant damage, for which Washington bears full responsibility and must be held accountable and forced to compensate for the material and moral losses."
Velayati stressed that the Iranian people will continue to resist "pressure and aggression" and will remain committed to their right to scientific progress and technological independence, adding that no force can prevent them from obtaining their legitimate rights.
He indicated that Tehran will pursue this "aggression" through legal and diplomatic channels, affirming that the issue is on the agenda of relevant international bodies, including the United Nations.
