Iran: We are in indirect communication with the new Syrian administration.

The Iranian special representative for Syrian affairs, Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, revealed that Iran is in indirect communication with the new Damascus administration, receiving messages about the situation in the country.
In statements reported by Iranian media, Sheibani stated that Iran "closely monitors developments in Syria and will make its decision at the appropriate time," indicating that he visited Russia and held discussions with officials there regarding "Iran's approach to developments in Syria and the restoration of relations with Damascus."
Sheibani emphasized Iran's position that "the future and destiny of Syria must be determined by its people, with the participation of all political factions," stressing his country's opposition to foreign intervention in Syria and the importance of "stability and peace in the region."
During his visit to the Russian capital Moscow, the Iranian special representative for Syrian affairs held talks with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and President Putin's envoy to the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, on the latest developments in Syria and the wider region.
Both sides affirmed their "commitment to the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Syria, highlighting the need for comprehensive national dialogue," in addition to the importance of implementing UN Resolution 2254, which calls for a political settlement and inclusive participation in shaping Syria's future.
