In a new escalation of the regional crisis, Tehran responded to the threats of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to strike Iran in response to Houthi attacks.
Iran's Defense Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, stated on state television that Iran will respond forcefully to any attack against it, indicating that US bases in the region would be legitimate targets if Iran is attacked by the United States or Israel.
The escalation comes after Netanyahu earlier today announced via "X" platform that Israel would retaliate against Houthi attacks, claiming that Iran is behind those attacks.
He added, "We will respond to Houthi strikes at a time we deem appropriate."
This tension comes at a sensitive time following the recent attack by the Houthis on Ben Gurion Airport, where a ballistic missile landed near the airport, injuring six people and disrupting air traffic.
Despite attempts to intercept the missile, the attack caused widespread panic in Tel Aviv, with Israeli authorities declaring a state of high security alert.
In response to these developments, former Israeli Chief of Staff Benny Gantz called for a direct strike on Iran, emphasizing the need for an immediate response to the Houthi attack.
