Iran witnessed a dangerous escalation early Friday morning following a wide Israeli attack targeting military and nuclear sites in the capital Tehran and other areas, resulting in casualties, injuries, and the assassination of prominent figures in the Iranian security and scientific system. The Iranian news agency "IRNA" confirmed the assassination of Brigadier Rashid, prominent scientists Tehranj and Faridoun Abbasi, as well as the death of Dr. Ahmad Reza Douzfaghari, a nuclear engineering professor at Shahid Beheshti University, as part of targeting the Iranian leadership center and its surroundings. The Iranian television reported 50 civilians, including 35 children and women, injured in a strike on the Noubandiyad area north of Tehran. In rapid developments, Brigadier Ahmad Vahidi was appointed to succeed Brigadier Hussein Salami, who was killed in the attack, by direct order of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Vice Admiral Habibollah Sayyari was appointed as the temporary commander of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The Iranian army announced that its forces, along with the Revolutionary Guard, will "teach Netanyahu a bitter lesson," while the Revolutionary Guard confirmed that the response will be firm, and the armed forces are in a state of full readiness to confront any aggression. On the other hand, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army stated that they "killed the heads of the Iranian security system" and that operations are ongoing inside Iranian territory. In contrast, Saudi Arabia expressed its strong rejection of the attack, considering Israeli assaults a blatant violation of Iran's sovereignty and a clear breach of international laws and norms, calling on the Security Council and the international community to "assume their responsibilities to immediately stop the aggression." In the same context, the Jordanian news agency announced the temporary suspension of air traffic for all incoming, outgoing, and overflying aircraft in the kingdom's airspace as a precautionary measure amid escalating regional tensions.
