Iran Denies Intention to Close the Strait of Hormuz

As soon as America carried out its strike on Iranian facilities, analyses began to imagine the highest scenarios of severity and anger that Iran might take. Many media outlets reported news of Tehran's intention to close the Strait of Hormuz within hours, an action that could cause a seismic commercial and economic upheaval for many countries around the world, whether exporting or importing.
Official sources in Iran denied today, Sunday, the validity of reports circulating in some news sites claiming that senior leaders in the Revolutionary Guard stated Iran's intention to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to the American attack.
The "Noor News" agency, affiliated with the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, also confirmed that these claims are false and baseless, adding that any decision related to military movements is only issued through official statements from the relevant authorities in the Iranian armed forces.
The official authorities urged the media and the public not to be swayed by rumors or unverified news in this sensitive situation.
Earlier, Iranian local media quoted Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy, as saying that the Strait of Hormuz would be closed in the coming hours.
