Iran criticizes IAEA Director, accusing him of 'betrayal' of the nuclear non-proliferation regime

The Iranian Foreign Ministry launched sharp criticisms at the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, accusing him of undermining the agency's role and turning it into a 'partner in unjust aggression' carried out by Israel.
This was stated by the official spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baghaei, who posted excerpts from Grossi's interview on CNN on the 'X' platform, considering the Director General's statements as 'betraying' the nuclear non-proliferation regime. Baghaei added: 'Misleading talk has serious consequences... and requires accountability'.
The spokesperson pointed out that Grossi himself admitted in the interview to the lack of tangible evidence of Iran seeking nuclear weapons, but he commented saying: 'It's too late'. Baghaei also accused the agency's director of 'obstructing the truth' in the agency's recent report, which he considered 'biased' and used by the three European countries (France, Germany, and Britain) and the United States as a 'pretext for an illegal decision' regarding Iran's non-compliance with its nuclear obligations.
Baghaei concluded his statements with a sharp question: 'Is Grossi's conscience at ease after all he has done?'
It is worth mentioning that the Board of Governors of the IAEA, consisting of 35 countries, had last week adopted a resolution declaring Iran's non-compliance with its obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, after the three European powers and the United States submitted a draft resolution condemning Iran's nuclear activities. Tehran denied these accusations, describing the resolution as 'politically motivated' and lacking objective evidence.
