The Border Security Administration announced the seizure of a drug shipment heading from the Lebanese side to Syria. According to a source within the administration, "The Border Security Administration seized a drug shipment heading from the Lebanese side to Syria in the Sargaya area in the countryside of Damascus." Jordanian authorities had previously announced the thwarting of two attempts to smuggle drugs coming from Syrian territories. The seizure operation was accompanied by armed clashes between border guard forces, resulting in the death of smugglers and the injury of a Jordanian army member.
