Gaza is witnessing a new military escalation with the ongoing intense Israeli airstrikes that have resulted in the death of around 100 people in the past 24 hours, according to medical sources.
Israeli aircraft carried out fierce attacks on several towns, including Al-Qarara in northern Khan Yunis, Jabalia, and Deir al-Balah. They also targeted a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area in the south of the Strip, resulting in casualties and injuries.
At the same time, Israeli forces continued their incursion into the areas of Abasan and Khuza'a in southern Gaza, as well as Beit Lahia and Al-Salatin to the north, where the incursions were accompanied by the complete destruction of residential homes, amidst increasing international criticism of the military operations.
Despite Israel's announcement allowing the entry of humanitarian aid, the United Nations confirmed that only a few trucks reached the sector yesterday, Tuesday, with only five trucks entering on Monday and 93 on Tuesday, according to the Israeli body overseeing aid (COGAT).
However, aid did not reach distribution points due to field obstacles and truck reloading, hindering the delivery of food and medicine to those in urgent need.
Experts have warned that millions of people in Gaza are facing the risk of famine, as initial aid included food items like flour and children's food, in addition to some medical supplies.
International calls continue to pressure Israel to allow broader and faster entry of aid to prevent a looming humanitarian disaster.
