Forensic Institute Identifies Bodies of Diogo Jota and His Brother After DNA Test

Media reports revealed today, Thursday, that the Forensic Institute identified the bodies of Liverpool star, Portuguese Diogo Jota, and his brother Andre Silva, after conducting a DNA test.
Local sources added that the bodies were handed over around 2 pm Spain time, in the presence of some Jota family members.
The Forensic Institute confirmed the identities of the bodies through DNA testing, and a car license plate, which was involved in the accident, helped in the initial identification of the victims.
Portuguese media reported that the bodies were transported by a funeral services company to a town nearby to complete the remaining procedures before transferring them to Portugal.
Two Portuguese funeral cars were seen outside the funeral home in the town of Poio de Sanabria, northwest Spain, where the bodies were taken, according to Agence France-Presse.
Some Jota family members traveled from Portugal to Spain to complete some administrative procedures.
Meanwhile, the corridors of Anfield stadium turned into a place of mourning, where large numbers of 'Reds' fans gathered, carrying flowers and touching farewell messages in honor of Jota and his brother.
Diogo Jota, 28 years old, and his brother Andre Silva, 25, tragically lost their lives early Thursday morning in a horrific traffic accident.
The car they were in caught fire completely after veering off the road. Initial investigations by the Spanish police suggest that a possible cause of the accident was the explosion of one of the car's tires.
According to reports, the car, a Lamborghini Urus, suffered a tire blowout while attempting to overtake on the A-52 highway near the town of Cernadilla, causing it to veer off and collide with barriers before completely engulfing in flames, in a tragic accident that occurred around 12:35 am.
British media mentioned that Liverpool star and Portuguese national team player Diogo Jota chose to travel by road after doctors advised him to avoid air travel due to recently undergoing lung surgery.
Several international football stars mourned Diogo Jota with touching words, including Cristiano Ronaldo who expressed his shock, and coach Jurgen Klopp who described him as a 'friend'.
