"Instagram Map" .. A new feature for location tracking copied from Snapchat

Instagram has announced the launch of a new feature called "Instagram Map," which allows users to share their geographical locations and provide content related to their whereabouts, making it easier to discover local activities and content.
This move comes at a sensitive time as Instagram continues to enhance its interactive features to compete with other apps in the social media market.
With this new feature, Instagram is copying one of the distinctive characteristics of the "Snapchat" app, which had previously launched a location tracking service through the "Snap Map" feature. Instagram, which began copying Snapchat's features in 2016 with the addition of Instagram Stories, is now aiming to provide a similar experience to that offered by Snapchat for users interested in sharing their locations.
But in an innovative step, Instagram offers a non-instant location update feature, where the user's location will only be updated when the app is opened. Unlike Snapchat, which provides real-time updates for geographical location, Instagram leaves the choice to users about when and how they want to share their location.
In addition to "Instagram Map," the company announced the launch of a repost feature for posts and the expansion of the friends tab on the short video service "Reels" globally, allowing users greater interaction with friends and content that interests them.
Instagram Map has not only copied ideas from its competitors but has also surpassed Snapchat in monthly usage, with the number of active monthly users exceeding 400 million, reflecting the platform's success in attracting more engaged audiences.
