Lebanese Citizen Injured in Israeli Raid on Shab'a Town in Southern Lebanon

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced today, Saturday, July 5, that a citizen was injured in a raid carried out by an Israeli drone targeting a house in the town of Shab'a in southern Lebanon. The Public Health Emergency Operations Center affiliated with the ministry confirmed in an official statement that "an Israeli drone raid resulted in a citizen being injured in Shab'a".
On the other hand, the National News Agency reported that the Israeli drone targeted a house in the area, indicating information about injuries without further details.
Tensions continue on the Lebanese-Israeli border despite the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel in place since November 27, 2023. Israeli forces maintain positions inside Lebanese territory, remaining stationed at five strategic points according to local sources.
In earlier statements, Israel declared its intention to "continue to work to confront any threats against it", refusing to allow Hezbollah to reinforce its military capabilities after the significant losses suffered during the recent war on both the battlefield and leadership levels. It also warned of continuing its military operations unless the Lebanese authorities disarm the party, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
The suspended agreement mediated by the United States is based on several provisions, most notably Hezbollah's withdrawal from the area south of the Litani River, approximately 30 kilometers from the Israeli border, in addition to dismantling its military infrastructure in that area in exchange for strengthening the deployment of the Lebanese army and UNIFIL forces. The agreement is also supposed to include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the areas they advanced into during the war, yet Tel Aviv still occupies five strategic heights inside Lebanese territory, a situation Lebanon demands to be ended.
