In light of the recovery of trade between Syria and Jordan following the fall of the former regime, Jordanian exports to Syria have increased by 60,366 million dinars to reach 88,654 million dinars since the beginning of the current year until mid-May, compared to imports amounting to 28,288 million dinars, according to the Jordanian General Customs Department. In this regard, Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Qudah, issued a decision today allowing the import of specific goods from Syria by exempting a number of customs items from the export ban decisions of 2019, which included a ban on importing goods from the Syrian Arab Republic, as reported by the Jordanian channel "Roya" on its website. The decision is part of enhancing trade relations with Syria while ensuring compliance with import requirements that maintain economic and regulatory standards in Jordan. Regarding the export figures mentioned by the Jordanian TV channel "Al-Mamlaka," Jordanian exports to Syria in the first two months of the current year amounted to 35.4 million dinars, compared to imports of 8.3 million dinars, according to the statistics of the Amman Chamber of Commerce.
