The amount of cotton ginned at Al-Aasi Gin in Hama Governorate has reached 7,800 tons since the beginning of the ginning operations until now, out of a total of 8,726 tons received for the current season. The director of the gin, Engineer Yasser Halabiya, explained that ginning operations produced 4,034 tons of seeds, including 2,815 tons of industrial seeds and 1,219 tons of agricultural seeds, in addition to producing 13,360 bales of ginned cotton weighing 2,548 tons. The remaining quantities consisted of dust and secondary residues. Halabiya expects ginning operations to continue until late June, mentioning that the gin has supplied 114 tons of ginned cotton to private sector companies through a public auction, as well as supplied 1,290 tons of industrial seeds to private oil companies. Furthermore, 124 tons of agricultural seeds were shipped to the Seed Multiplication Branch in Deir ez-Zor Governorate. Al-Aasi Gin is the only gin in Hama Governorate carrying out cotton ginning operations this season, highlighting its vital role in supporting the agricultural sector in the governorate.
