Hezbollah denied in a statement on Saturday any connection to the events taking place in Syria.
Hezbollah stated that "certain parties" are using its name in relation to "the events in Syria" and accusing it of being "involved in the ongoing conflict there."
"Hezbollah categorically denies these baseless allegations," the statement added.
Clashes erupted last Thursday between the Syrian government forces and armed groups supporting the ousted President Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian coastal areas, resulting in casualties.
The Syrian authorities announced on Saturday the reinforcement of security forces in the coastal region in western Syria and the "control" of areas that witnessed clashes in the past two days.
These clashes are considered the most intense since the overthrow of Assad, a Hezbollah ally, on December 8th last year.
As the intensity of the clashes decreased on Saturday, the official Syrian news agency SANA reported that security forces have increased their presence, especially in the cities of Banias, Latakia, and Jableh, to "maintain security."
The spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Hassan Abdel Ghani, announced that their forces "regained control of areas that were subjected to treacherous attacks against the public security personnel."
In a video statement, he called on "all field units deployed in combat zones to strictly adhere to the instructions of military and security leaders," emphasizing that "approaching any house or targeting any individual inside their home is strictly prohibited except for specific objectives determined by the Ministry of Defense officers."
