The Hebrew newspaper "Haaretz" confirmed on Saturday that 41 Israeli prisoners out of 251 in Gaza were killed due to the Israeli army's military operations.
Haaretz mentioned that some of them were killed as a result of the Israeli military operations carried out in Gaza.
It added that "military maps confirm that the location where 6 prisoners were killed by the Israeli army last August was within limited operation zones."
The newspaper pointed out that "when the Israeli army published its investigation into the killing of the six prisoners, it stated that it was not aware of their presence in the area."
It confirmed that the army "was aware of the danger facing the prisoners when it operated in the area where the six hostages were killed."
It is noted that the six Israeli prisoners who were killed are: Hirsch Goldberg Bolin, Uri Danino, Eden Yerushalmi, Alex Lubanov, Carmel Gat, and Almog Sarusi.
The Hebrew newspaper also highlighted that "despite the decision to halt Israeli army activity in Khan Younis in Gaza due to concerns for the prisoners' lives, after only a one-day pause, the army decided to continue its operations there with the aim of locating Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar."
It indicated that "according to Israeli security sources, it was decided that finding Sinwar was more important than rescuing the Israeli prisoners."
Despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's repeated disavowal of responsibility for the killing of Israeli prisoners in Gaza and blaming Hamas for it, the Israeli opposition holds him responsible for the deaths of a large number of prisoners due to his obstruction for months in reaching a deal to bring them back, fearing the collapse of his government coalition, where right-wing ministers were pushing for the continuation of the genocidal war on Gaza.
