Heatwave Closes Banks and Offices in Tehran and Several Provinces

Due to rising temperatures and continued pressure on the water and electricity networks, the Iranian capital Tehran announced the closure of all banks tomorrow, Wednesday, in implementation of the decision by the Governor of Tehran to halt the activities of executive institutions.
The council revealed that "some branches announced on the official websites of banks will remain open from 8 AM to 12 PM to provide essential services, in addition to the continued operation of technical and central support units."
Citizens have also been directed to rely on electronic banking services and external service applications to avoid pressure on the energy infrastructure.
The closure decisions included other provinces, as authorities in Khorasan Razavi, Markazi, Kermanshah, Gilan, Kerman, Ardabil, Golestan, Yazd, Isfahan, Hormozgan, Khuzestan, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Semnan, Ilam, Qom, Alborz, Mazandaran, Hamadan, and other provinces decided to close official departments and banks, or reduce official working hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, as part of emergency measures to confront the unprecedented heatwave.
