A Hamas official revealed on Saturday, April 26, the movement's readiness to conclude a deal to end the war in Gaza, including releasing all remaining hostages at once in exchange for a five-year ceasefire.
The official, who requested anonymity, told Agence France-Presse: "Hamas is prepared for a one-time prisoner exchange agreement, with a five-year ceasefire."
This announcement coincided with a Hamas delegation heading to Cairo to meet with Egyptian mediators to discuss the details of the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Hamas leader Taher al-Nono announced on Friday, April 25, that a delegation from the movement led by Khalil al-Hayya will meet with Egyptian officials in Cairo to present Hamas's vision for ending the war.
Nono emphasized that "the resistance's weapons are not up for negotiation and will remain in the hands of the resistance as long as the occupation of Palestinian territories continues," reaffirming Hamas's stance on the Palestinian cause.
