Hama Governorate: The flow of the Orontes River stops after the reopening of the Rastan Dam

The Hama Governorate announced today, Monday, the cessation of the flow of the Orontes River in the city after the reopening of the Rastan Dam, following the end of the specified period for its opening.
The governorate stated via its Telegram channel: "The Rastan Dam is one of the main dams on the Orontes River, and it is used for water storage and regulating its flow for irrigation, drinking, and electricity generation."
It added that it is one of the vital facilities in Syria, as it provides the surrounding areas with the necessary water for agriculture, especially in the Al-Ghab Plain area, and it constitutes an important source of drinking water.
