Hama... Clashes with remnants of the defunct regime and seizure of a number of weapons by security forces.

Several Syrian security forces were injured in clashes with remnants of the ousted Assad regime, resulting in the arrest of some of them and the seizure of weapons in the countryside of Masyaf in Hama province in central Syria.

This was reported by the Syrian Ministry of Interior on Thursday, according to security official Ahmed Ali from the Masyaf area.

Ali said: "We received reports from several sources about the presence of wanted individuals and remnants of the ousted regime in the village of Ain Shams in the countryside of Masyaf."

He added: "In response, our patrols moved to monitor the targets."
Explaining that "during the operation, scattered clashes occurred, resulting in injuries to a group of general security personnel."
He continued: "Our patrols managed to arrest a number of wanted individuals (unspecified) and seize weapons, ammunition, and rockets in their possession."

Since the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime, the military operations administration has opened centers for reconciliation with elements of the ousted regime to surrender their weapons. However, the refusal of some to comply with this initiative has led to confrontations in several provinces of the country.
