Daraa Governor Anwar Taha Al-Zu'bi received today, Sunday, a delegation from the Jordanian Ramtha Chamber of Commerce headed by the Chamber's President, along with a number of members, to discuss ways to enhance trade cooperation and reopen border crossings, in a step aimed at revitalizing economic activity between Syria and Jordan.

The two parties discussed during the meeting mechanisms to facilitate trade exchange procedures, serving the interests of traders and citizens in both countries, in addition to the importance of reopening the old Daraa Customs Crossing due to its vital role in revitalizing local markets and facilitating the movement of goods and travelers.

Both sides also emphasized the necessity of continuing coordination between trade chambers and official authorities to overcome obstacles and push forward mutual cooperation, which positively reflects on the economic and social reality in the region.

This visit comes within the framework of enhancing Syrian-Jordanian economic relations and solidifying cooperation between the public and private sectors, as the Jordanian city of Ramtha has a historical commercial connection with Daraa Governorate through border crossings that have been a lifeline for trade, and reopening the crossings is a strategic step that contributes to revitalizing markets and supporting the local economy on both sides.
