The funeral of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah will take place 5 months after his death.

The former leaders of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, were laid to rest today, Sunday, 23/02/2025, in the Camille Chamoun Sports City in southern Beirut, in the presence of high-level figures from Iran and 79 other countries.
The new Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, called on the party's supporters to participate widely in the funeral procession, stating: "We want to turn this funeral into a demonstration of support and affirmation of the path and approach we uphold, with heads held high." The official news agency reported that large crowds of participants in the funeral procession were walking from various Lebanese regions towards the capital, Beirut, since early morning, causing traffic jams on roads, especially the Sidon-Beirut and Bekaa-Beirut highways.
After the ceremonies, mourners will head to the burial site located between the two roads leading to the airport.
It is worth noting that the Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting the vicinity of six towns in southern Lebanon before the start of the funeral procession, as part of the ongoing violations by the occupation army of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah; no immediate reports of casualties were received.
