The European Border and Coast Guard Agency "Frontex" announced on Thursday its readiness to support the voluntary return operations of Syrian refugees to their homeland. Through its website, the agency emphasized ensuring that all returning Syrians are fully aware of their rights and the voluntary nature of their decision, with each return operation carried out in accordance with EU law and international protection standards. Frontex also mentioned facilitating over a thousand voluntary return operations since last March. In the coming days, Frontex will provide reintegration measures for those voluntarily returning to Syria by expanding the geographical scope of the European reintegration program, as well as continuing to support member states in providing a dignified path for individuals to return and assisting those who choose to rebuild their lives in their homeland.
