As part of a Gulf tour that started from the Qatari capital, Doha, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visited Qatar, where he was received by the country's Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The visit comes at a critical time in the region, amidst a noticeable diplomatic momentum, especially with the ongoing escalation in Gaza. The Palestinian issue topped the agenda of discussions between the two sides, alongside international and regional efforts to cease fire and end the suffering of civilians.
During the meeting, President Sisi discussed with the Amir of Qatar ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, emphasizing the importance of advancing relations towards more coordination and strategic partnership.
The Egyptian President's visit also includes meetings with representatives of the Qatari business community to discuss economic and investment cooperation opportunities, and to explore new horizons for trade and joint projects.
After concluding his visit to Qatar, President Sisi will head to Kuwait as the second stop in his Gulf tour, in a visit that holds political and economic dimensions, reflecting Cairo and Kuwait's keenness to deepen the bonds of brotherhood and integration between the two countries.
It is expected that during his visit, the President will meet with the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in addition to the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousuf Saud Al-Sabah, in meetings focusing on enhancing strategic relations and expanding areas of mutual cooperation, especially in the fields of economy and investment.
