The French Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barou, said today, Thursday, that the aid distribution system supported by the United States and Israel in Gaza has caused 'bloodshed' and must stop.
Speaking to journalists after meeting his Cypriot counterpart in Nicosia, he said: 'I call for the cessation of activities of the Gaza humanitarian foundation, the armed distribution of humanitarian aid that has led to bloodshed at distribution centers in Gaza, which is a shameful and disgraceful matter that must stop.'
The United Nations says that more than a thousand people seeking food have been killed by Israeli forces since May, most of them near military distribution sites belonging to the Gaza humanitarian foundation, which employs an American company run by a former CIA officer and former American armed fighters. The Gaza foundation denies any incidents resulting in casualties at its sites, stating that the bloodiest incidents occurred near other aid convoys.
