France Calls for Multi-Track Support for Syria to Achieve Regional Stability

France has called on the international community to provide urgent and comprehensive support for Syria through multiple tracks, aiming to revive the Syrian economy and enhance stability in the region. This came during a session of the United Nations Security Council dedicated to discussing the situation in Syria, where the French Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Jerome Bonnafont, emphasized the importance of swift action to ensure that the transitional process in Syria is not affected by the turbulent developments in the Middle East.
Bonnafont stated: "We are committed to preventing the current disruptions in the Middle East from impacting the transition process in Syria and providing this country with the opportunity to become a center of regional stability". He explained that this support should address the humanitarian crisis, reintegrate Syria politically and economically into the international community, in addition to providing the necessary funding.
The French representative also highlighted Paris' efforts to enhance financial aid to Syria, whether through mobilizing support from bilateral, regional, and international donors, or by encouraging the private sector to contribute to reviving the Syrian economy.
On the other hand, the Turkish Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ahmet Yildiz, expressed optimism about the developments in Syria, considering them a glimmer of hope for the region and the world. He emphasized the "need to prevent the spread of disturbances in the Middle East to Syria", stressing the importance of supporting stability there.
