Approximately 118 people were arrested in Los Angeles this week as a result of immigration enforcement operations, with 44 individuals detained on Friday. California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned the raids as "harsh." In response to the chaos and tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to address the disturbances. Tom Homan, a border official in the Trump administration, stated, "We are making Los Angeles safer."
