The U.S. Department of State has prohibited U.S. government employees and their families in Israel from traveling outside the Greater Tel Aviv area, Jerusalem, and Be'er Sheva until further notice. The embassy stated that employees and their families are allowed to move between these three areas, including to and from Ben Gurion Airport, as well as use Highway 1 to and from the Allenby Bridge. American citizens were urged to exercise caution, increase personal security awareness, and know the nearest shelter location in case of sirens. The U.S. embassy noted that it may restrict or prevent its employees and their families from traveling to certain areas in Israel, including the Old City in Jerusalem and the West Bank, due to evolving situations. This warning comes after President Donald Trump told reporters on Wednesday that some American diplomats and military families in the Middle East are being relocated because it "may be a dangerous place."
